Friends Forever Rescue is proud to be part of
the Maddie’s® Pet Rescue Project in Miami, FL, a
coalition of humane organizations in Miami-Dade
County working to end the euthanasia of healthy
and treatable dogs and cats in County shelters.
In 2008, the coalition received a $30,000
Maddie's® Fund Community Shelter Data Starter
Grant. The purpose of this grant is to gather
Miami-Dade County animal sheltering statistics
for 2007, 2008 and 2009. (Each animal is coded
using the Asilomar Accords. To read more about
the Asilomar Accords, visit
asilomaraccords.org.)
Our Miami-Dade County Maddie’s® Coalition
consists of Animal Control - Miami-Dade Animal
Services
and 4 Adoption Guarantee agencies - Friends
Forever Rescue, Humane Society of Greater Miami
Adopt-A-Pet, Cat Network, and Pet Rescue Miami.
Currently, our Coalition is defining annual
goals to increase adoptions in an effort to
reduce shelter euthanasia of healthy and
treatable animals.
